V2 LEED APs: What To Do Now
A storm of information has been released on the changes brought by LEED V3, but what about LEED APs credentialed under LEED V2.2 or earlier? SKYed to the rescue! In this article you will find all the information you need to take full advantage of your new options as a LEED AP (without specialty) in the new LEED credentialing system.

First, you have a choice: you can opt-in to the new LEED credentialing system, or not.  Under the new tiered program, there are now five specialty designations to choose from.  If you do opt-in, you will become a LEED AP+ Specialty, with a focus in Building Design & Construction (BD&C), Interior Design & Construction (ID&C), Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Homes, and/or Neighborhood Developments. If you decide not to opt-in, you will keep your LEED AP designation, without a specialty.
