New York -  Brittany Grech, one of the founders of SKYed Eco Education has been proudly elected as a Co-Chair of the Emerging Green Builders in New York City.  Emerging Green Builders New York (EGBNY) represents a coalition of students and young professionals in the New York City area with an intent on promoting the integration of future leaders into the green building movement. The group hosts periodic educational seminars on green building, promotes social events to build our community and arranges green building tours in New York City.   EGBNY is a program under the U.S. Green Building Council and it's local NYC chapter, the Urban Green Council.

Brittany has wasted little time implementing new ideas to the group.  She recently announced an EGB Paper Drive that she is collaborating on with fellow EGB'er Jessica Cooper.  The two are encouraging EGB members to collect their non-confidential paper that has been printed on one side and bring it in the next EGB meeting on Tuesday, December 1, 2009.  The paper drive will support a new fundraiser event in which notebooks will be sold to support NYRP and their Million Trees NYC initiative.  The notebooks will be constructed from the recycled paper with the proceeds donated to contribute towards planting trees around New York City.

Congratulations Brittany Grech!
